Report of the Meeting on the Operationalization of the African Union Mediation Support Unit (AU MSU)

Abstract

This report is on the African Union Mediation Support Unit (AU MSU). It explains the role of the unit, mostly emphasizing the strategy to structure and operationalize it in the most effective and efficient way possible. Among other points discussed are: Structural challenges in mediation efforts; funding and logistics; International collaboration; Information publication as well as capacity building for the AU Mediation Support Unit. The report concludes with general recommendations for improvement.
