dc.description.abstract	The Council further welcomed the cross border cooperation initiatives taken by some Member States in developing their border areas, turning borders into bridges rather than barriers. The Council also took note of the request of the AU Commission to extend the deadline for the completion of the demarcation of African Borders which expires in 2017, and requested the Commission to submit a comprehensive report on AU Border Programme and its activities for the Council consideration.	en
