The Study was called for by the Summit of Heads of State and Government of the African Union in order to establish the key issues affecting teachers in Africa, provide a basis for improving their conditions and lead to the improved performance of education systems in Member States .
The Study proposes models for teacher valorisation, training, school management and policy making, and policy directions for enhancing teacher effectiveness through Open, Distance, Virtual and e-Learning.
