Permanent Mission of the Africa Union in Brussels is accredited to the European Union (EU) and has an Observer status to the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States ACP. The Permanent Mission is mandate to promote the African Union, its actions and programmes of actions, both within the European Union Institutions and in all EU Member States. PM support the African Group of Ambassadors in Brussels which is made up of all Embassies of the African Member States of the African Union in Brussels. PM support to the African Group contributes to a better coordination of its action whenever required and particularly in the framework of the ACP-EU Cotonou Partnership Agreement, it facilitates harmonization with the positions and strategies adopted within the African Union (AU) to guild up an African integration reflecting the objectives and principles of the AU. Similarly, through this support, the African Group is involved in the follow up of the cooperation relations and AU-EU Partnership. Permanent Mission offers support to the Representations of the African Regional Economic Communities (REC’s) accredited to Belgium and it also contribute to the African Diaspora in the EU countries.
