African charter for social Action: Adopted by the fifth conference of African ministers of social affairs (Arusha, October 1989)

Abstract

This publication comprises the text of the African Charter for Social Action, in its entirety. In addition to a preambular Section, the Charter consists of five operative parts, namely the . definition, principles and objectives, strategies, implementation and general provisions. Through the Charter, it is hoped that a greater awareness of social development issues would be generated and increased impetus given to social policies and action programmes in order to put them on a higher priority within national development.
