dc.description.abstractThe rebel minority regime of Ian Smith imposed its policies of genocide and apartheid with increasing speed and ruthlessness on the African population in Rhodesia. Increasing number of armed South African police joined the rebel armed and security forces and took part effectively in the act of genocide against the African population. Furthermore, despite the UN economic sanctions against Rhodesia, its economy continued to be buoyant.en
