This is a concept note on Kiswahili language for its inclusion as the African Union working language as proposed by the United Republic of Tanzania. Kiswahili is one of African language which is spoken mostly in Sub Saharan Africa. Therefore, it is the language of the African Continent. It was used as a unifying language during the liberation struggle of African continent especially Southern African countries namely Angola, South Africa, Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Namibia Thus, as a symbol of African liberation.
