The election of members for the African Committee of Experts on the Rights and Welfare of the Child (ACERWC) is guided by the African Charter on the Rights and Welfare of the Child and the Rules of Procedure of the Executive Council. The ACERWC comprises eleven members chosen for their moral integrity and expertise in child rights. Each member serves individually, with a restriction of one member per country. Members serve a five-year term, which can be extended once as for the Assembly decision.
