The African Space Council's membership selection process is determined by the Statute and Rules of Procedure of the Executive Council. The Council's governance structure includes ten members, with two representatives from each region. Candidates must be experts in space-related fields and citizens of AU Member States, with no two members from the same country. The Executive Council handles election matters following a decision by the Assembly. The Members of the Space Council shall serve for a term of four (4) years which may be renewed only once.
