Abstract

The 2nd Ordinary Session of the CHSG occurred virtually on February 13, 2024, focusing on four main agenda items. This report outlines the outcomes of the discussions, recommendations, and decisions made during the session. A significant decision was made to bolster the Africa CDC's autonomy, governance, and operational capabilities, elevating its status as a crucial organization within the Union for managing disease prevention and control throughout Africa. This move highlights the emphasis on strengthening the institution's strategic leadership and governance, promoting closer involvement and supervision by Member States.
