Report on the Finalization of the AU Partnerships Policy and Strategic Framework (AUPPSF)

Abstract

In January 2008, the African Union's Executive Council adopted Decision No. EX.CL/Dec.397 (XII) to conduct a comprehensive review of existing strategic partnerships. This initiative aimed to refine implementation strategies, reduce the number of summits, and establish clear criteria for partnerships, including a Moratorium on new partnerships to better align international collaborations with Africa's goals. From 2014 to 2016, the PRC's Sub-Committee on Multilateral Cooperation, in collaboration with the Commission, evaluated AU partnerships and presented their findings to the Executive Council in July 2016
