First Report of the Commission on the participation of the AU in the G20

Abstract

This report outlines the implementation of the Assembly and Executive Council decisions regarding the African Union's (AU) participation in the G20 summit. The report details the formal appointment of the AU G20 Sherpa and Sous-Sherpa,creation of a directory of AU representatives, resource mobilization for financing participation, and a retreat for member states and partners. Additionally, it discusses the development of a draft policy document reflecting AU priorities for the G20, along with a summary of AU G20 Team activities from December 2023 to May 2024.
