This report reviews the conference regarding the UN convention on the code of conduct for liner conferences, emphasizing the vital role of the transport sector in promoting economic development among member states, as acknowledged by the African leaders. This recognition traces back to the establishment of the Organization of African Unity (OAU) and gained momentum with the adoption of two significant developmental strategies by the Assembly of Heads of State and Government, the Lagos Plan of Action and Africa's Priority Programme for Economic Recovery.
