Abstract
This report outlines the election process for the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, which is governed by the Rules of Procedure of the Assembly of the Union, the Statute of the Commission, and the Decision Ext/EX.CL/Dec.1(XXII) on the Election of Senior Leadership, adopted by the Executive Council in March 2024. The election will take place in February 2025 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, reflecting a commitment to democratic governance within the African Union.
