This report summarizes the discussions and resolutions adopted by the Council of Ministers of the Organization of African Unity (OAU) during the fifty-first ordinary session held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from February 19 to 24, 1990. Central to the meeting was the report of the Secretary-General on the situation in the Middle East, as documented in CM/158 (LI). The Council of Ministers reaffirmed its commitment to the principles outlined in the OAU and United Nations Charters, emphasizing the collective determination of Africans and Arab peoples to safeguard their freedoms. The council of ministers expressed unwavering support for the Palestinian people, recognizing the Palestine Liberation Organization as their sole legitimate representative, and reaffirmed previous resolutions regarding the Palestinian cause.
