Report of the Secretary-General on the Situation in the Middle East

Abstract

This report presents the key outcomes of the fiftieth ordinary session of the council of ministers of the Organization of African Unity (OAU), held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from July 17 to 21, 1989. The session focused on the Secretary-General's report regarding the ongoing situation in the Middle East, as detailed in document CM/1544 (L). The council adopted a resolution addressing the grave concerns over the lack of progress in resolving the conflict, despite numerous resolutions passed by the United Nations General Assembly, the Security Council, the OAU, and the Non-Aligned Movement.
