Introductory Note on the Establishment, Development and Prospects of the African Center for Research and Phytosanitary Training (CARFTP)

Abstract

This introductory note, presented by the Embassy of the Republic of Cameroon to the Organization of African Unity (OAU) in 1991, proposes the inclusion of "The Establishment and Development of the African Centre for Phytosanitary Research and Training (ACPRT)" on the agenda of the 53rd Ordinary Session of the Council of Ministers. The submission highlights the critical need for a dedicated African institution to address plant health challenges. The note is accompanied by several key annexes: a comprehensive report on ACPRT's establishment, a detailed financial overview (past, present, and future), a list of current students, and a provisional budget for the inaugural Governing Council session.
