The Secretary General's report on the implementation of AHG/Res.182 (XXV), which was declared in 1991 as the "Africa Year of the Environment." The AHG/Res.182 (XXV), resolution, was adopted by the OAU Assembly of Heads of State and Government in July 1989, underscored the dire environmental degradation facing Africa and the urgent need for collective action.
