This report details a high-level meeting held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from April 2-5, 1990, between representatives of the Organization of African Unity (OAU) and its specialized agencies, and the United Nations. The meeting was convened in response to OAU Assembly resolutions AHG/Res. 179 (XXIII) and AHG/Res. 181 (XXIII) concerning the establishment of an African Economic Community, and UN General Assembly resolution 44/17, which requested UN support for this endeavor.
