This report provides proceedings of the Third Conference of African Ministers of Animal Resources, held in Nairobi, Kenya, from October 1-5, 1990. The conference was officially opened by H.E. President Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi of Kenya, and included statements from the Secretary-General of the Organization of African Unity (OAU) and the Kenyan Minister for Livestock Development. Key deliberations focused on critical issues for livestock development in Africa, with a particular emphasis on the promotion of livestock trade. The conference recognized agriculture, including livestock, as Africa's largest industry, yet noted the continued reliance of many African countries on livestock imports.
