This report details efforts to strengthen Afro-Arab cooperation following the Fifty-second Ordinary Session of the Council of Ministers in July 1990. Despite a political climate dominated by the Gulf crisis, which hindered significant progress, initiatives were undertaken to boost economic and trade relations. These included discussions on a draft framework agreement for an Afro-Arab preferential trade area and the planning of the First Afro-Arab Trade Fair in Tunis (October 1991). Additionally, political consultations commenced at an informal meeting of Foreign Ministers from the Standing Committee for Afro-Arab Cooperation in New York (October 1990), aiming to strategize on promoting cooperation in the evolving international landscape.
