Report of the Secretary-General on the Draft Cooperation Agreement Between the OAU and the Pan-African Union of Science and Technology (PUST)

Abstract

This report addresses the draft Cooperation Agreement between the OAU and the Pan-African Union of Science and Technology (PUST), as mandated by Council of Ministers Resolution CM/Res. 1228 (L). The OAU Council of Ministers in this agreement aimed to achieve two primary objectives through this agreement: to leverage the scientific and technical expertise of African scientists, including those within PUST, and to prevent duplication of efforts between PUST's programs and those of the Regional Centre for Technology (CRAT) and the Scientific, Technical and Research Commission (STRC). Following the Fifty-third Ordinary Session of the Council of Ministers granting PUST Observer Status, the submission of this cooperation agreement for the Council's approval was deemed necessary.
