Report of the Secretary-General on the OAU Regional Meeting on Disasters in Africa

Abstract

This report outlines the OAU Regional Meeting on disasters in Africa, held in Addis Ababa from April 13-17, 1992, in compliance with OAU Resolution CM/Res. 1253 (LI). The meeting outcome aimed to raise awareness among African nations and the international community about disasters on the continent, and to identify priority project areas for implementation during the International Decade for Natural Disaster Reduction (IDNDR) in collaboration with the UN System.
