Report of the Secretary-General on the Situation in the Middle East

Abstract

This report outlines the Council of Ministers' session engagement on the Middle East situation at its fifty-fifth Ordinary Session in Addis Ababa (February 24-28, 1992). Following an extensive discussion of the Secretary-General's report (CM/1694 (LV)), Resolution CM/Res. 1371 (LV) adopted, reaffirming previous OAU resolutions, expressing full support for the Palestinian people and Arab nations facing Israeli aggression, and acknowledging international efforts towards peace via the Madrid Conference and subsequent negotiations based on international law and UN Security Council Resolutions 242 and 338.
