Report of the Fourth Ordinary Session of the Standing Committee on the Review of the OAU Scale of Assessment

Abstract

The fourth ordinary session of the standing committee on the review of the OAU scale of assessment convened in September 1993 to revise the organization's financial contribution scale. The existing scale, in effect since 1989, needed updating, and the committee proposed a new, equitable scale for the upcoming council of ministers session in February 1994. Discussions focused on key parameters such as the ceiling and floor of the scale, the capacity of member states to pay and the reliability of statistical data.
