Kampala Action Plan on Women and Peace (Proposed by Uganda)

Abstract

The Kampala Action Plan on Women and Peace is a document submitted to the Organization of African Unity (OAU) in 1994, summarizing the outcomes of a 1993 regional conference in Kampala, Uganda. The conference, initiated by the Ugandan government, was a response to the increasing number of conflicts in Africa where women were disproportionately affected as victims of war, rape, and starvation.
