Report of the Meeting of the Ministerial Follow-Up Committee on the Implementation of Agenda 2063

Abstract

This report is on the proceedings and outcomes of the ministerial follow-up committee meeting on the Implementation of Agenda 2063, held virtually on 7 July 2025. The meeting brought together representatives from Member States, Regional Economic Communities (RECs), and AU institutions to assess progress on the Second Ten-Year Implementation Plan (STYIP) of Agenda 2063. Key discussions included the review of the Ambassadorial follow-up committee’s report, adoption of a draft decision for submission to the Executive Council, and reflections on challenges such as coordination gaps, underfunding, and limited treaty ratification.
