Abstract

OAU Permanent Office in Brussels (1997-5). This report contains Activities in the political field that touches on the 24th Ordinary Session of the ACP/EU Joint Assembly held from March 17-21 in Brussels and 5th OAU/EU Consultative meeting on April 17, 1997 also in Brussels, 24th Ordinary Session of the ACP/EU Joint Assembly, activities in the socio-economic field, activities of the African Group. Exchange of views on the situation in some countries and regions i.e. Great Lakes (Zaire, Rwanda and Burundi), Liberia, sierra Leone and Somalia. Situation of the OAU projects and Human Rights and Democracy. Trade Cooperation dealing with Commodities under the UNCTAD, Banana Protocol, Sugar Protocols and Fisheries. coordination with WTO, Development Finance issues and considered the report by the Ministerial Committee on Development Finance and Cooperation.
