This report provides a brief background of the African Human Rights system, including key instruments relevant to women’s rights and regional mechanisms that may be used to enforce such rights. The report provides useful background knowledge for practitioners by providing an understanding of how the Women’s Rights Protocol came about and how it is positioned within the African Human Rights system
