The Decision of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union (Assembly/AU/Dec.695 (XXXI) to establish, in Morocco, an African Migration Observatory, as an AU organ, addresses the real and pressing need of Africa to generate a better knowledge, understanding and expertise of the migratory phenomenon.
