The overall mandate and objectives of the Permanent Mission are to follow-up on the Africa-EU Cooperation, promote AU common positions and programmes, coordinate and support the African Group of Ambassadors in Brussels, act as a Representation Office and mobilize and provide support to the African Diaspora in Europe.
