Communique: Peace and Security Council 586th Meeting Addis Ababa, Ethiopia 31 March 2016

Abstract

The Council reiterates its request to the Commission to liaise with the Guinea‐Bissau authorities, to identify practical steps through which the AU and its relevant structures could further contribute to peace and stability in Guinea‐Bissau. The council further called on the Government and people of Guinea‐Bissau, as well as international partners, to continue their efforts in rebuilding Guinea‐Bissau, particularly in areas of socio‐ economic recovery, reforming justice, defense and security sectors, as well as promoting national reconciliation process.
