At its 78th Ordinary Session at Ambassadorial Level, held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on 27 November 2001, the Central Organ of the OAU Mechanism for Conflict Prevention, Management and Resolution authorized the deployment the OAU Military Observer Mission to the Comoros.
