Conference of Minsters of Education of African Members States held in Lagos (Nigeria) from , 27th January - 4th February 1976 to consider the recommendations on the creation of the Association of African Universities as a philosophy of assisting the various African universities to pool ideas and resources together in the areas of education and research for the intellectual, social, political and economic development of Africa.
