This is a report by the Secretary General discussing the progress of the United Nations Convention on International Multimodal Transport of Goods, which was adopted by consensus by the United Nations Conference on the subject, on 24th May 1980 after seven years of protracted negotiations under the auspices of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).
