AU STUDY ON TEACHER TRAINING, WORKING, AND LIVING CONDITIONS IN MEMBER STATES

Abstract

The Study was called for by the Summit of Heads of State and Government of the African Union in order to establish the key issues affecting teachers in Africa, provide a basis for improving their conditions and lead to the improved performance of education systems in Member States . The Study proposes models for teacher valorisation, training, school management and policy making, and policy directions for enhancing teacher effectiveness through Open, Distance, Virtual and e-Learning.
